I came across this book in a philosophy class and loved it since.
This novel makes you think about what is quality. What do we put quality into and what does it mean? The narrator ponders this question and more throughout the novel.
Pirsig knows how to intrigue his audience not only with the title but the philosophical thoughts throughout, and there are times in the novel that you don't realize they are there. Though the title says motorcycle maintenance this book has nothing to with that.
There will be times when the story is slow going, but other m moments when the story is so intense and thought provoking that you do not want to put this book down. At points the wording and sentence structure is simply and to the point and then there are points when it's very complex and you may need to put the book down and walk away to ponder what Pirsig is saying about life.
Philosophy is not everyone's thing, but it will make you think no matter what. Even if you don't like philosophy pick up this novel today.
