Review:

This was an interesting and compelling story about a boy’s fascination with a novel and the author who wrote it.

Now, that sounds more than a little vague but I will tell you that the novel found by the boy was extremely rare… mostly because a shadowy figure has purchased or stolen every copy of every novel by the author to have known to exist – and destroyed it.

As he grows older and learns more of the author: his life, his family, friends and background, the more he comes to realize that the reality he found was far more compelling and disastrous than the fiction he had read. He gets so caught up with the non-fiction tale that it nearly absorbs him whole.

It is also the story of how the novel he loves and the drama he has involved himself in affects his own life, his growing up and his own relationships both with family and friends.

I found this novel interesting and easy to read. Parts will keep you guessing to the end while others are glaringly obvious. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for something a little different but relaxingly entertaining.
