The movie begins with Ben Gates setting out on another action filled "treasure hunt." The object of his obsession in this movie is the lost 18 pages from the diary of John Wilkes Booth, Abraham Lincoln's assassin. Ed Harris' character, Jeb Wilkinson has already discovered one of the missing pages with the names of the conspirators to the assassination of Lincoln. Thomas Gates, the great-great-grandfather of Ben Gates, is listed as one of the conspirators. This discovery puts the Gates name in jeopardy once again and sends Ben on a quest to salvage his family's reputation. Amidst the numerous leads and adventures, he learns that there is a secret book that holds all of the information he needs. The book is coined the "book of secrets" and has been passed down from president to president. The book is basically the equivalent of the presidential diary, so of course he has to kidnap the president to get it..............

In my opinion, any movie with Nicolas Cage is a good one, and this one is no exception. The movie has great actors and keeps your interest. The only problem that I have with it is that it is the typical sequel. If you had not seen the first movie maybe this one wouldn't be so predictable.
