Great novel, very good depiction of life in the 1920's, otherwise known as "The Jazz Age", this was a very controversial period of time, a time of rebelling against the norms in society. Alcohol abuse was common, more so, during the prohibition. i love the characters in the book, they are very dramatic, but also realistic at the same time. this book is a soap opera, but reading it is so much more intriguing and fun than watching it. the female characters are made to seem weak, fickle, and superficial, a common stereotypical view of females, especially Daisy, the men are guided by riches and wealth and getting rich quick, is the top priority of every male in the novel, also known as 'The American Dream". I would recommend this book to any teen or adult, who wants to read an exciting , moral-teaching book. the price was also good.
