The Thief Lord
Mediocre. I held just enough interest in the book to allow me to continue reading, but nothing in particular was drawing me back to it. Funke is not an incredibly intriguing writer. This book seemed as though it was something I could have written myself. It was a good book, but if I was a publisher, I'm not entirely sure I would take this book. She tried too hard to leave cliffhangers at the end of her chapters, but they were not as interesting as she intended them to be. I guess that is what happens when a primarily children's author attempts a somewhat serious novel. Who does she think she is? Neil Gaiman?
