A Fly Went By - Written by mike McClintock, Illustrated by Fritz Siebel

This book is an I can read it all by myself beginner book presented by Scholastic in home reading program. You can also purchase this book wherever books are sold. The book commences with a cute little boy sitting back, relaxing and enjoying his day when all of a sudden a fly goes by. Now apparently he is in some sort of hurry to escape some thing that is making him shake with fear and scream "I must get out of here!" Now a frog comes jumping by so the boy asks the frog "Why are you after the fly?" The frog states that "I want no Fly!" but only that is hopping away from a cat that he believes is after him. He asks the cat "Why are you after that Frog?" The cat says he is not after the frog and that the cat is being chased by a Dog. The dog then swears that a pig wants to bite him. The pig states that a cow will hit him. The cow then accuses a Fox of threatening to kill her young( The word kill mentioned in this book I would like to make mothers aware of that, but that is really the only con to this otherwise innocent and fun childrens' book." so supposedly the Fox is after the cows baby but the Fox says that he is being pursued by a man with a gun. When the boy confronts the man with the gun the man says "What fox I saw no fox, the thing that's after me is big and bad the thing made me fear and away. Then the boy recognizes that the thing that followed the man is a sheep with a tin can attached to his feet he was in search of help. The man then removed the can and the animals all waved good-bye and the boy sat back, relaxed and looked at the sky.

This is a great book and when I read it to my son he likes to try and guess what animal is chasing after the next.
