Disney Movie "Earth" is a ripoff
So last month, on April 22nd, the world celebrated Earth Day. A day when everyone is supposed to plant a tree or stop using plastic or recycle something. Well the Disney Corporation did just that with their movie "Earth". My wife and I anxiously anticipated this movie for months, waiting to see the beautiful footage that Disney says "was a year in the making". HHmmm. A year to make or a year to bribe BBC for the rights to the British Broadcasting Company's documentary series "Planet Earth". We heard from friends and other reviews that this series was beautiful and we decided to get this for ourselves and enjoy the videos, all 10 DVD's and 950 minutes worth. The very first DVD in the collection was popped into the DVD player and as it was at the startup menu, I noticed some very familiar scenery. I thought is was just a coincidence so we hit play and started to watch. Unbelievable. The entire movie Disney "made" was taken from this original series and there was nothing original about the Disney production except that James Earl Jones did the narration instead of David Attenborough. I felt completely ripped off by the Disney corporation and so disappointed that they used all of the footage from this fine series and tried to market it as their own. Next Earth day they are supposed to be releasing the movie "Oceans", but we won't be seeing it at the theater, because I'm sure we already own it. It's called "Blue Planet" by BBC, a part of the "Planet Earth" series, made in 2007.
Buy the entire series and watch it at home with your loved ones and children, you won't be disappointed. If you wait and pay 10 bucks to Disney next year, you are only just helping them along with their decisions to rip off more people.
